After a successful store launch, Mochidoki wanted to introduce their mochi dessert into store freezer sections. With several lower-priced competitors already dominating the space, Mochidoki needed to stand out. Their premium product needed an on-shelf presence with graphics and an opening experience that made it clear that Mochidoki was the best choice.
Mochidoki launched the patent-pending packaging in stores in July, 2022. The opening experience was thoroughly and thoughtfully planned from shelf to table. The inner tray is designed to perfectly maintain the iconic shape of the mochi and to swiftly pop the mochi out of the tray untouched. The packaging graphics emphasize each flavor by incorporating detailed photography and vivid colors. We were able to achieve a clean and balanced design that mirrors the elegance of the product
